Credit Card Application Rejected? Here’s what to do.
Learn what to do and how to get credit despite your credit problems and learn to rebuild your credit rating after an application rejection.

Millions of people everyday decide to apply for a credit card and many of those people will have their credit card application rejected.

For some, it can be devastating.

Having a credit card means that you have the ability to purchase what you want when you want it, and when your credit card application is rejected, it can be very demoralizing.

My Credit Card Application was Rejected!

When your credit card application is rejected, you most likely will be upset and want to speak to someone to find out whey it was rejected. Most credit card companies will tell you why you were rejected in your rejection letter.

The biggest reasons for a rejection are:

  • not having enough household income
  • having too many maxed out credit cards already (a high debt to income ratio)
  • having a recent delinquency (late payments or collections)

Other reasons for denial are:

  • your balance on other cards is too high
  • you have applied for multiple credit cards too recently
  • even an unverified telephone number

Many people do not realize that every time you apply for a credit card, it is posted on your credit report. Credit card companies are very cautious whom they approve.

Know your Rights

There really is not too much you can do if your application is rejected, however you do have certain rights when it happens.

First of all, you have the right to know exactly why your credit card application was rejected, so you can take steps to correct it.

Second, you have the right to request a copy of your credit report free of charge with every credit card rejection that you receive. It is very important that you take advantage of this offer.

Look at your credit report very carefully and make sure that there are no errors on it. If there is something that you do not recognize, contact the credit-reporting agency for their procedures on how to remove it from your report.

This process is not as easy as it appears, it can take awhile to process. However, repairing your credit is something that you want to do if there is something suspicious on your credit report.

Don’t Complain

It does no good to call the credit card company and shout at the employees, they have no control over who is accepted and who is rejected. Figuring your credit score is all in the numbers, and is calculated by computers.

Often times, just cleaning up your credit with this manual can increase your score and increasing your chances of being approved for a credit card.

In the mean time, you can most likely get approved for one of the following cards at Creditcards.com:

Prepaid Credit Cards

No Credit History Credit Cards

Credit Cards for People with Bad Credit

Instant Approval Credit Cards
