Fast Help Fixing Bad Credit

Are you constantly stressed by the seemingly never ending calls and letters from creditors? Maybe you’re having a hard time landing a decent job or purchasing a new vehicle all because of your poor credit issues. Believe it or not, fixing your credit issues can be done setting you on a path toward a better credit score in no time. Here are a few steps to assist you on your path toward financial freedom with a better credit score.

1. Request a copy of your credit score from each major credit bureau. This will allow you to review your report for any discrepancies and follow the proper steps to have any incorrect information removed.

2. Payoff your debts starting with the accounts that have the highest interest rates and slowly make your way down the list. The quicker you are able to payoff the debt the quicker it will be removed from your credit report.

3. If you are unsure where to begin with your mounting debts; consider contacting a non-profit credit counseling service. These organizations provide counselors that are able to assist you with consolidating your debts and contacting your creditors on your behalf.

4. Do not sign up with companies that offer to provide credit repair services or offer you loans to payoff your debts. These types of organizations will often times drive you deeper into debt.

5. Stop using your credit cards; in fact close the accounts if you think you may be tempted. After all they are more than likely part of the reason why you are in debt.

6. Consider selling any valuables you own or liquidating your assets. Money earned from these can be put toward the payoff your debts.

7. Make everyday life changes that can help to re-establish your credit status. Pay any exiting bills on time, or early if you can. Monthly expenses like your rent or mortgage payment, car payment and utilities are all reflected on your credit report. Additionally, maintaining the same residence, keeping a job and having an active checking account in good standing are all ways to improve your credit worthiness over time.

8. If you have to keep a credit card account open remember to pay the balance in full each month, these payments are reflected each month on your credit report. . Practice responsibility when using the cards and aim to only use it in case of an emergency.

9. If you are unable to qualify for a traditional credit card account, consider applying for a secured card. These cards require you to “back-up” your credit limit with cash. Secured cards will prevent you from over the limit fees and keep you on track. They also help to boost your credit score because they offer the same advantages of a traditional credit account on your credit report.
