Debtmerica is based out of Santa Ana, California and has been in business since 2006. The BBB called them into question on the “guaranteed debt reduction” statement on their website and also requested substantiation along with documentation of settlement claims along with testimonials. Debtmerica has so far refused to respond and they are a BBB member as well. Beginning the Process by calling their toll-free number or filling out the form on their website. Types of Debt Serviced Unsecured only. Worth Noting They claim that they want no repeat customers of their program and that they try to educate about debt as well as help those who are in debt to get out through debt settlement. They also have a page on their website that purportedly shows sample settlements. Whether these are actual cases or just made up is not clear. Program Caution and Your Responsibilities You must perform your due diligence in checking this company out fully before you sign up for their program. Will Debt Collectors Still Call? They say that it is impossible to get this done, but they work with your creditors to get them to stop. Other Information The number of complaints is not overly high, but does raise a red flag in doing business with them. They appear to be more on the giving of information side of things than not, and that is a good sign, too. Related Articles: |
